Meir grew up in Iasi which is one the largest cities in Romania. He was 16 years old when he embarked for Israel. Meir is a veteran of the 1948 war that gave independence to the country of Israel. He is married with Ruth and he has five children and many grand children. Meir and Rut live in Asseret, a nice and peaceful community near Rehovot, South of Tel-Aviv.
