Realtime 3D Modelling for Real-Virtual World Interactions
PhD thesis
This job offer is closed
The INRIA Rhone-Alpes has developed an experimental platform, presented at Siggraph Emerging Technologies 2007, that allows 3D models of dynamic scenes to be acquired in real time using multiple videos. The information given by such models allows real worlds, typically users, to be immersed into virtual worlds. Real and virtual worlds can then interact, from basic interactions, such as the consistent occurrence of both worlds for visualization purposes, to much deeper interactions where real world actions modify the virtual world. The project is aimed at investigating such interaction capabilities. The objective is to study their modalities and to propose algorithms to achieve the most relevant ones, pre-emption for instance.
Keywords: 3D interactions, 3D Modeling, Camera networks, Virtual Reality
