Readings in Statistical Mechanics and Theory of Neural Computation - Session I

This is the first session of this reading group. We will address the theoretical bases of combinatorial and stochastic optimization methods. We will start with the introductory chapters from the following books:

D. Chandler: Introduction to Modern Statistical Mechanics

J. Hertz, A. Krogh, and R. Palmer: Introduction to the Theory of Neural Computation

Within the first session we will discuss the first chapter of Chandler’s book: Thermodynamics Fundamentals.
